Apparently he likes the neighborhood. Zac Efron just bought a new home in Hollywood Hills, and it’s just five miles from the house he purchased back in 2008.

Although the home is close to the one he bought on the heels of his success in “High School Musical,” Efron is likely looking for a fresh start. The actor recently completed his second stint in rehab, and a different home — one marketed as Zen-like — may be the right way to get a refresher on life.

The home had been on the market since February and was first listed for $4.495 million before the price was slashed to $3.995 million, which according to property records, is exactly what Efron paid for the contemporary pad.

Set behind gates at the back of a long driveway, the secluded home will likely give the kind of privacy Efron needs from the paparazzi. Several of the rooms offer views of the city and ocean, and the open floor plan flows right out to a deck.

Measuring 5,644 square feet, the home has 5 bedrooms and 5 baths as well as a chef’s kitchen, gym and a stunning pool and spa with a waterfall feature. A wine cellar and state-of-the-art electronic and security system round out the house to make it “perfect for a musician or celebrity.”

The home was listed by Connie Blankenship of Coldwell Banker.
