Simple, Traditional Elegance: Beautifully Minimalist Stool

Swedish company Massproductions released a laminated beech stool inspired by traditional Japanese architecture and furniture production. The Harry stool is a deceptively simple piece of furniture that is surprisingly versatile.

The Harry is made from two pieces of curved layered beech. The pieces of wood are held together with two small solid wood wedges slotted through spaces at the top of the stool.

Thanks to its simple design and the variety of sizes offered by Massproductions, the Harry can also be used as a footrest or as a side table. Its minimalist aesthetic is very appealing, but it looks rather delicate – it would be interesting to know just how much weight Harry can hold.
