The new location will open in greater Los Angeles next year, in the town of West Hollywood.

"We've heard from our West Coast fans for years that they'd love a Shake Shack in California, and at long last, we're delighted to say Shake Shack LA is on its way," said Randy Garutti, Shake Shack CEO, in a release.

Domestically, Shake Shack has long been primarily an East Coast company but has been on the expansion path to other parts of the country. In November, it opened in Chicago's River North neighborhood and Las Vegas in late December.

The company has said it plans to open at least 10 new domestic company-operated Shacks each year, starting in the current fiscal year. Long term, it sees the potential to grow its current domestic company-operated Shack footprint to at least 450 locations.

As of year end, Shake Shack has 31 domestic company-operated and five domestic licensed Shacks in 10 states and Washington, D.C.
