Update February 19, 2013: The report surfaced by The Real Estalker was reported false by The Huffington Post. A representative for Dave Matthews contacted The Huffingpost Post and said the singer did not purchase the home.

Singer-songwriter Dave Matthews’ primary residence is a modest home in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood, but like most Seattleites he must crave a little sunshine during the winter months. The Dave Matthews Band frontman recently purchased an estate in Malibu’s prime Point Dume area for $6.575 million, reported The Real Estalker blog.

Judging by the indoor-outdoor space on the property, there’s plenty of room for soaking up the sun. Sitting on nearly 2 acres, the home resembles a “European country-style” residence with white stucco exterior and gracious white interiors with high, beamed ceilings and plenty of windows.

The home has 6 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and plans for an additional 900-square-foot guesthouse. The lot has a private backyard with pool, spa and apple orchard, all with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. The home also includes beach rights.

In addition to this Malibu home and his residence in Seattle, the Grammy-winning singer also owns extensive land in Charlottesville, VA that includes a winery and recording studio.
