Report of credit card breach at Mandarin Oriental

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group suffered a security breach that exposed customer's credit card data, according to a new report.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (Singapore Exchange: MOIL-SG) reportedly suffered a security breach that exposed customer's credit card data.

KrebsOnSecurity reported Wednesday afternoon that the hotel chain had confirmed it was affected by a breach following questions about a pattern of fraudulent charges from recent customers.

"We can confirm that Mandarin Oriental has been alerted to a potential credit card breach and is currently conducting a thorough investigation to identify and resolve the issue," the company said in a statement to Krebs. "Unfortunately incidents of this nature are increasingly becoming an industry-wide concern."

The hotel group told Krebs it is coordinating with credit card agencies and "forensic specialists" to protect its customers.
