Photographer's Tiny Tree 'Houses' are Open to Fairies Only

Much like the digital artist who transposed architectural photography onto scraps of cardboard, Boston-based photographer Daniel Barreto manipulates images to create miniature Rats of NIMH-style villages inside tree trunks. He didn't actually build anything physical here—unlike the miniatures freak who crafted a dollhouse inside a tree trunk—instead clipping together image of bay windows and lit-up living rooms with photos of the woods at night, turning the mashup into a series of realistic-lookinh forest dwellings. What's more, a few of the works in Woodhouses are animated gifs—seen here—to show the flickering lights of things going on inside. Another look, below.
