In some areas of the U.S., $700,000 can buy a mansion.
In a celebrity real estate market, $700,000 is merely the figure of a price cut.
Jessica Simpson appears to be really ready to dump her bachelorette-era home. After just listing it in May, she’s dropped the price by an aggressive $700,000.
Simpson bought the home at 9555 Lime Orchard Road, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 for $5.275 million on the heels of her divorce from singer Nick Lachey. Custom-built in the early ’90s by award-winning L.A. designer Kerry Joyce, the house was the perfect, private oasis for Simpson as she moved on from the split.
She’s now a mother of two with fiance Eric Johnson and recently bought Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s palatial, 11,000-square-foot Hidden Hills abode.
Her former bachelorette hideout, perched in the Beverly Glen neighborhood, was designed to be “evocative of the Hamptons.” Measuring 5,500 square feet on a third of an acre, the house has a walled and gated courtyard with koi pond, “landscaped park-like grounds” and a swimming pool. Inside, a recent interior design update enhances the home’s crown moldings, hardwood floors and high ceilings.
