Reese Witherspoon is determined to walk away from 7 acres of Ojai history. Her Spanish-style ranch — previously owned by a glassware magnate and several Hollywood stars — is now listed for $7.25 million. The actress first put the property on the market for $10 million last September and changed the price to $8.9 million in November.

The estate at 915 Del Norte Rd, Ojai, CA 93023 was designed by Wallace Neff in 1923 for Edward Libbey, the father of the glass industry and a historical icon in Ojai.

A short drive from Los Angeles, the property was also home to “Ghostbusters” actor Harold Ramis and celebrity designer Kathryn M. Ireland.

Actor Robert Pattinson is also rumored to have escaped to the castle after paparazzi discovered his girlfriend, “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart, had cheated on him.

“Assuming the reports are correct and Pattinson was there, it’s a place that people don’t care; there’s not the same sort of celebrity attraction that we have here [in L.A.] with the vans and buses with people who want to go look at houses that people lived in 40 years ago,” said Billy Rose, co-founder of The Agency. “I think that you can be much more of a normal person up there.”

Witherspoon purchased the home in 2008 and reportedly added her own style, while maintaining the property’s character. Several notable details including Spanish-style arches, original stonework, tiles and beamed ceilings.

The estate — with a century-old barn, horse stable, three guest cottages and a carriage house — was featured in House Beautiful and Elle Decor with several photos of Witherspoon and her daughter in cowboy boots last year.

More recently, however, Witherspoon has shifted her attention to focus on being a mom of three after giving birth to son Tennessee James in September.

The Oscar-winning actress has also been busy filming “Mud,” a last-minute addition to the Sundance London lineup. Witherspoon may also flex her movie-making muscles in a film adaptation of “The Engagements,” according to The Inquisitr.
