Ellen Pao doesn't regret lawsuit, despite outcome
Ellen Pao doesn't regret the lawsuit against her former employer, venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, even though she lost the case.
Despite the trial being "harder than I thought it would be," Pao said she didn't intend to become a symbol of any particular issue. Her goal was to tell her story.
Her comments came during an interview at the Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Pao's case, which ended in a not guilty verdict for her former employer on March 27, became a high-profile symbol of gender discrimination in Silicon Valley.
She has until June 8 to decide whether to appeal the verdict, and declined to say what she and her lawyers would ultimately decide.
Pao is currently interim CEO at Reddit, and during the discussion she offered prescriptions that the company is trying out to fight gender discrimination and increase diversity.
One example: Reddit is experimenting with getting rid of salary negotiations for new hires.
"Instead of having that whole unpleasant interaction... it takes a lot of tension out of that process," she said.
