It’s not surprising when actors buy a home (or two, or three) in Hollywood or the Big Apple. But where do they go from here? For Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift, it was the Northeast coast. The mom of twins just bought a $10 million house in The Hamptons, while the country-pop star picked up a $17 million waterfront manse in Rhode Island.

Christian Slater is also jumping the L.A. ship, though he won’t be neighbors with Lopez or Swift any time soon. The “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” actor just bought a Spanish-style villa in Coconut Grove, FL for $2.21 million.

Named “Villa Dolce Far Niente,” the home has been meticulously renovated while maintaining its late-’20s charm. A formal dining room with arched, mahogany french doors leads into a covered poolside patio, while the master suite has a large walk-in closet and a marble bath. Across the pool, a quaint guest house provides an eat-in kitchen and steam shower.

Slater also owns a 1,099-square-foot New York City condo and has previously owned Los Angeles homes with ex-wife Ryan Haddon. According to the Los Angeles Times, he was recently seen house hunting with fiancee Brittany Lopez. The two are planning a backyard wedding in July.

The 43-year-old actor’s professional life is also ramping up. Slater is staring in “Mind Games,” a new ABC drama set to premiere mid-season, and can be seen in recent films including “The Power of Few” and “Assassins Run.”

Slater’s new Florida home was last sold in August 2011 for $1.8 million. Soon after in February 2012, it was listed for $1.998 million, and in January of this year the property hit the market again with a significant price jump to $2.59 million.
