Baby boomers may know him for his role as a stereotyped Japanese neighbor in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” but Mickey Rooney is nothing less than a legend. The American film actor has gained international fame — not to mention two Golden Globes and an Emmy — for his career spanning nearly 10 decades.
Despite his unquestionable pedigree, the Hollywood hero owns a modest lakefront property in Westlake Village, CA that he’s now selling for $1.075 million.
High ceilings and a newer kitchen are selling points of the 4-bedroom, 3-bath home at 1400 Redsail Cir, Westlake Village, CA 91361, but the main attraction is the location itself. The home’s kitchen and living room have water views, and the master suite overlooks Westlake Lake.
Rooney likely enjoyed the home with his wife, Jan, nine children, 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
According to property records, Rooney sold a much a larger home in Westlake Village for $735,000 in 1994.
Time will tell whether the actor is ready to retire from the lake or snatch up another home nearby.
