Bizarre pop phenom Sia will hide her face in this theatrical stunner of a home

We like to imagine this is how it happened:

A young real estate agent with impeccable hair, skinny pants and pastel-soled oxfords escorts his implacable client — she of the double-platinum records and hair — to yet another Los Angeles trophy house.

Only at this one, when they climb up stone steps and he pushes open the heavy wooden door, she parts the curtain concealing her face, takes in the high-drama vestibule and breathes:

"Now this is the kind of place where a girl can swing from the chandelier."

Sia just bought this voluptuous Mediterranean Revival for $4.7 million, the Los Angeles Times reports. Never heard of her? It's possible — but you've almost certainly heard her, or at least her work: She has written hits for numerous superstars, including Rihanna ("Diamonds"), Beyonce ("Pretty Hurts"), David Guetta ("Titanium") and Flo Rida ("Wild Ones"). Those aren't counting the hits on her own albums, like "Elastic Heart" (featured in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire"), "Chandelier" and "Breathe Me."

Like Sia herself — who prefers to hide her face with wigs and masks in a brand of self-effacement that's nearly as showy as her musical prowess — the home blends beauty and theater into a unique spectacle. Exposed wood molding against white barrel vault ceilings look like corset lacings cinching in the home's volumes. Stained glass windows cast a heavenly glow, and a sunken sun room off the living room has the feel of a chapel (or maybe a pagan temple).

The home was built circa 1924 and has 5 bedrooms and 5 baths in about 5,200 square feet. It sits on about a third of an acre in Los Angeles' Los Feliz neighborhood, below Griffith Observatory.
