UPDATE: John Legend and Chrissy Teigen sell their mellow 'Thai temple' for $2 million

[Editor's note, December 22, 2014: This post has been updated to reflect the sale of the home at the asking price.]

Musician John Legend and his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, have sold their relaxed 2,000-square-foot house in the Hollywood Hills for $2 million, just a whisker over their asking price of $1,995,000. (Click here for a slideshow.)

Its vibe reminded their designer, Don Stewart of Desiderata Design, of a "Thai temple." "That Asian influence was something they responded to, especially since she is half Thai," he told Architectural Digest last year.

He gutted the 1960s structure and carefully restricted his materials palette to warm, tactile elements like teak cabinets and a sea-grass wall, AD wrote. (Click here for a slideshow.)

The result was deliberately laid back, not precious -- so laid back, in fact, that Legend confessed to AD that he used the outdoor basalt bathtub off the master suite, a "beautiful piece of sculpture," mostly for washing their several bulldogs.

"We do love our dogs," he said. And we guess that's true, judging from a photo captioned "Yep" that Teigen posted to her Instagram account:

Teigen has posted many pictures from her home, but maybe none as sweet as this one of her cooking in her kitchen (she's a big cook) with her mother, shot by Legend (whose reflection you can see behind them):
