Jodie Foster lists her Hollywood Hills home

Oscar-winning actress and director Jodie Foster is selling her longtime Hollywood Hills home for $6,399,000, co-listing agent David Kramer confirms to Yahoo! Homes. Click here for a slideshow of Jodie Foster's home.

The 6,000-square-foot Spanish villa has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, an office and an attached guest suite. It was built in 1935, although Foster has updated some of it, according to the Wall Street Journal. Before Foster bought it in 1997, the world's first supermodel, Cheryl Tiegs, owned it, the Journal says. (Speaking of Tiegs, she's been seeking to move lately as well; Tiegs listed her L.A. home this spring for nearly twice what Foster is asking, though she removed the listing last month. You can see photos of Tiegs' home on Zillow Blog.)

Foster is notoriously private, so it's probably not a surprise that the listing touts the property as "the perfect refuge for those seeking the ultimate in privacy, security and style." It uses the word "sheltered" not once but twice, and it mentions a "high-reaching hedge for utmost discretion." Plus, the home is "discreetly accessed by a rear gated driveway entrance, safeguarding the two-car parking garage and guest suite entry."

Amenities also include a screening/family room; a sunny atrium entry; a sauna; and a center-island kitchen equipped with a Viking stove and "a gourmet chef's dual-sink setup."

The home sits on a quarter-acre lot on Flicker Way, one of the famous Hollywood Hills "bird streets" (like Blue Jay Way and Skylark Lane) where many celebrities live. Current and past residents cited by Curbed and by the Hollywood Reporter include comedian Mindy Kaling, young billionaire heiress Megan Ellison, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, Christina Aguilera and more. And it's a surprisingly tight-knit community: According to the Hollywood Reporter, its Doheny Dining Club meets a couple of times a year. "We didn't think this was the kind of community that wanted to get to know their neighbors. But it seems that everybody wants that," dining club founder Lindsay Berger Sacks, a local attorney, told the magazine.

Foster's new movie, "Elysium," starring Matt Damon and directed by Neill Blomkamp of "District 9" fame, opens Aug. 9. Here's a just-released trailer from Yahoo! Movies:
