Faye Dunaway lists modest West Hollywood duplex

After just completing a remodel of the 1925 West Hollywood duplex she lived in for 15 years, actress Faye Dunaway has put it on the market for $1.75 million.
The “Chinatown” star, whose Oscar and Emmy are on the mantle in listing photos, has decided to move into a smaller place.
Dunaway paid only $315,000 for the small, charming duplex at 901 N Spaulding Ave when she bought it in 1998. The larger half was her primary residence — a 2-bedroom, 2-bath space of about 1,500 square feet with a small balcony off the dining room. The smaller unit, about 1,000 square feet, was unoccupied.
The duplex, tucked behind hedges and a wall to keep it private, totals 2,437 square feet on a lot of about 5,700 square feet, including a shared courtyard. The smaller unit has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath.
A recent open house attracted Dunaway fans who wanted to check it out, said listing agent Farrah Aldjufrie of The Agency. She holds the listing along with Eduardo Umansky.
The larger unit is staged with memorabilia worth about $260,000, including a photograph that Dunaway’s ex-husband took of her at breakfast, poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel, with the Academy Award she won for her role in “Network” in 1977. The memorabilia can be negotiated as part of the property sale or be purchased separately.
Dunaway simply wants “to find a buyer who would hopefully appreciate the Hollywood history and want to own a piece of her life,” Aldjufrie said.
Dunaway’s own vision drove the home’s remodel. Antique and art deco details — crown molding, arched windows — are preserved. But the home has been modernized with contemporary light fixtures and a modern tile backsplash in the kitchen.
