Draco Malfoy -- er, Tom Felton -- buys Hollywood Hills home

British actor Tom Felton, best known as Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" movie series, has landed about as far from Hogwarts as you can get.

He's left behind the brooding green glow of Slytherin for the unrelenting sunshine of Los Angeles, and the hope of perhaps putting a little distance between himself and Draco.

He brought his longtime girlfriend, Jade Olivia (who played his wife, Astoria Greengrass, in the epilogue to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2"), when he moved to Hollywood a couple of years ago. They lived out of hotels for a time.

But now, with projects like TV series "Murder in the First" under his belt, Felton has bought a house -- fairly modest by L.A. standards, with two bedrooms and two baths in its 1,700 square feet -- on a 6,200-square-foot lot in the Nichols Canyon section of the Hollywood Hills. There's also a small studio space out back with a kitchen and a bathroom.

Our friends at Trulia first reported Felton's purchase. He paid $1,275,000 for the property, about 10 percent more than the asking price.
