Spanish Concrete Dome is a Light-Filled Artist's Home
If artists are influenced and inspired by their surroundings, the Deep Cavern Studio from designer Claudio Hebberecht is the ideal artist's residence.
The domed home is nestled in a hilly region in Spain. Its graceful concrete canopy mimics the setting and provides a peaceful covering for a three-story living and working space.
The concrete dome creates a partial shell of protection from wind and other natural elements. Eight graceful arms extend from the dome's main body, creating a series of arches that let sunlight penetrate the concrete shell.
An east-facing oculus admits an additional dose of natural light to the home's interior, particularly at sunrise.
