Construction photos of the Frank Gehry-designed museum in Panama City surfaced last week, showing a zig-zaggity creation that appears to be inching toward completion. The "Bridge of Life" building, Gehry's first major project in Latin America, features flamboyant, disarticulated surface architecture and lots of asymmetry, stylistic components well within the Guggenheim architect's wheelhouse. The roughly 43,000 square feet will be divided into exhibition spaces dedicated to the local biology and environment. Nobody seems sure when construction on the Biomuseo will wrap up, but the museum is accepting visitors even as it is being built.
