Marc Jacobs' apartment
Sure you could pick up a Marc Jacobs bag, but wouldn’t a Marc Jacobs apartment make an even greater statement?
The designer has listed his SoHo condo for rent at $37,500 a month, according to The New York Post. The unit at 40 Mercer St. is offered starting March 1. Jacobs may have been staying there while in New York; his townhouse in the West Village was extensively damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
A joint effort between “hotel visionaire” Andre Balazs and architect Jean Nouvel, 40 Mercer Street is an exclusive building boasting modern designs and full-service amenities such as a 24-hour doorman, concierge, underground parking and fitness center.
Jacobs’ 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath place is offered fully furnished with the most “luxurious finishes, fittings and appliances.” The loft-like space has enormous windows with south and west exposure, high ceilings and an open floor plan.
Although he’s best known for his fashion designs, Jacobs has recently joined Diet Coke as the creative director. He recently starred shirtless in a Diet Coke ad and will also be releasing a new design of cans and bottles later this month.
