David Cook's house
After more than 200 days on the market, singer David Cook’s home is under contract. No word on the purchase price yet, but the “American Idol” winner dropped the asking price from $1.495 million to $1.399 million in early September. The price drop may be what sealed the deal; a little over a month later property records confirm the home sale is pending.
Cook won the seventh season of “Idol” and went on to produce two albums before his label dropped him earlier this year. Without a record contract, it looks like Cook is heading back to his home state of Missouri, where he owns another home.
Cook’s Hollywood Hills home, located at 3170 Durand Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068, is nestled right under the famous Hollywood sign and Griffith Park Observatory. The custom-remodeled home includes a recording studio and an open floor plan measuring 3,071 square feet. The 3-bed, 3-bath home also has a gourmet kitchen, formal dining and living spaces as well as plenty of outdoor entertaining spots.
The home is listed by Michelle Kaplan of Pinnacle Estate Properties. According to Zillow’s mortgage calculator, a monthly payment on Cook’s home would be $4,863, assuming a 20 percent down payment on a 30-year mortgage.
