Jessica Alba lists her Beverly Hills bachelorette pad for rent

In 2002, at the ripe old age of 21, actress Jessica Alba made her first really big purchase: a $1.1 million house in Beverly Hills, Calif.

She kept her bachelorette pad even after she bought a much bigger house — twice the size, four times the price — for her new husband and their first child in 2008. As 2010 turned to 2011, she put the Balinese-style Beverly Hills home up for rent at just under $9,000 a month.

Now it's up for rent again, but with a brand-new style and price tag: $12,000 a month. (You can compare before-and-after pictures in our slideshow.) The home has two bedrooms and five bathrooms in about 2,300 square feet, plus a bonus room on the third floor. It's gated and occupies about a quarter-acre atop a ridge. "No need to preview, it's just perfect for you," writes the listing agency — which just happens to be one Alba Realty. The listing agent is her dad, Mark Alba.

Why has Jessica Alba hung onto her bachelorette pad all this time? "Pretty much anything that I made I would invest back into that house, so I have a fondness for it," she recently told Domaine, which covered the makeover by the L.A. design firm Consort (co-owned by Domaine's creative director).
