Admittedly, "best" of Etsy in the headline might be overstating the case, since Etsy is so full of great decor (hard though it can be hard to dig up). But take a look at these fanciful pieces and see how individual artisans interpret the London Olympics theme. And when you're done, check out much, much more beyond Etsy in our "London Olympics inspiration: British decor invasion."
This appropriately summery tea towel from Susan Taylor of TaylorsType sells for just $15. Don't miss her other tea towels and prints, including a bright and graphic retro-inspired London print.
Fran Kemp of FrangipanCrafts jumps on the bandwagon with a proper tea cozy, above, but we also like her sturdier version below. Each sells for about $26. Bonus points for her because she's based in a place in England called Clacton-on-sea, which practically summons briny breezes as we sit here typing it.
If you can't go to the London Olympics, bring the London Olympics to you -- that's what we always say, and evidently the U.K.'s WondrousWallArt agrees, judging from this big $26 wall decal, available in 22 colors. And by the way, shame on you if you're a Doctor Who fan and you don't at least click over to check out the store's TARDIS-bursting-through-a-wall decal. (We're also both geeked out and freaked out by the Dalek decal over a kid's bed -- maybe British kids are just made of sterner stuff, but we know American children who would have nightmares with that Dalek hanging over them.)
And finally, these cotton pillows aren't exactly Olympics-themed (just London), but we found them irresistible. They're based on illustrations by the artist with the impossibly perfect English name of Helena Carrington of Norwich. The oblong building pillow measures 50x30cm and costs $75; the square bus cushion is about 40cm square (16 inches) and costs $65.
