Let?s be honest--there's a certain negative stereotype associated with real estate agents. However, Jim defies that stereotype in every possible way. He?s incredibly hardworking, honest, ethical, patient, sincerely friendly, funny, extremely knowledgeable, and highly intelligent. Furthermore, he got us the best possible deal both as a buyer?s agent and as our listing agent. His goal at every step was to make us satisfied rather than trying to wrap up the deal as fast as possible. Jim helped my wife and I purchase our condo in 2009. At that time, there were a decent number of properties on the market, but most of them were overpriced and many of them were stinkers for one reason or another. Jim took us on at least 6 different tours that each included 4 or 5 properties and never once did he push us to make a decision. For each tour he took the time to preview every property so that he would know in advance what advantages (or more typically disadvantages) there were to the properties. Finally we found the perfect house but even then he did not push us into it. During the whole process there were multiple offers and counter offers made and Jim made it so easy to negotiate and get the best possible deal. But his work wasn?t even done after the closing--when our condo suffered water damage owing to a negligent neighbor, Jim got us in touch with contractors who efficiently and affordably got our condo back into working order. When it came time to sell in 2013 we naturally thought of Jim. However, we?re the kind of people who are excessively thorough with decisions like this and so we interviewed several listing agents. It was like night and day though, and Jim was the clear winner. The other agents we interviewed did a market analysis and recommended 25-30k less than what Jim recommended. If we had gone with them, we probably would have received 20 offers over list price and we might have (mistakenly) gone away from things feeling like we?d done well. But Jim had a much better sense of the market, and he convinced us to aim high. He got it exactly right, and within one week we had 4 offers over the list price and everything went through smoothly.
