I didn't want to keep throwing money away on rent but I couldn't get a mortgage either. Tom was able to negotiate a rent with an option to purchase in the future. My money is working for me now. I know what my house is going to cost when I am able to get a mortgage and I know what I need to do to get that mortgage. In the mean time I don't feel like I am just making my landlord rich anymore.
