I did not know JoAnn before I called her up to help my wife and I with the purchase of our new hour home. In fact, I actually called the seller's listing agent first, and never got a response. I then selected JoAnn from her reviews on Zillow. From the moment I met JoAnn, my wife and I were given the royal treatment. JoAnn proved to be extremely knowledgable, incredibly responsive, and definitely knew how to negotiate. I am an attorney by profession and negotiate for a living. I am usually the one to handle the affairs of my clients, so I found myself in the unique position of having someone advocate the best deal on my behalf. As you know, buyer's don't communicate with sellers and/or their agents directly. I was extremely impressed by the way JoAnn took charge and negotiated with the shrewdness and tact of some of the upper echelon lawyers in my profession. I can't tell you how she acts when she represents a seller, but when she represented me as the buyer, she fought like a bear to keep me from paying anymore than I had to for my house. I am happy to say that I paid well below the appraised value of the property when the deal closed thanks to JoAnn's real estate negotiation skills. When the house closed my wife and I were ecstatic except for the fact that we were no longer dealing with JoAnn on a daily basis. What can I say? JoAnn is great. She not only showed us homes all over the San Antonio area (without making us feel rushed to buy), she also knew about the schools and histories of the neighborhoods (often saying "no, you don't want to live there"). She even went beyond the call of duty by assisting us with getting our money back from a deal gone sour with our previous realtor. In short, JoAnn had our back the entire time, while having patience with our sense of reluctance to get back in the game after our previous experience. She negotiated hard for us, made sure we understood every line on the contact, eventually getting us a home we love, at a price we love even more. JoAnn is a first rate example of how experience and customer focus pays off for buyers... I was recommended JoAnn from a friend at work who has known her most of her life, and who had JoAnn's help in home purchases herself. When I became interested and capable of buying a home, I only had a short time to consider the possibility due to changing work responsibilities. JoAnn was able to listen to what I was interested in finding as a long term home for my son and I, and adapt to our changing needs vs desires as we looked at potential houses. She was able to find and show us several homes that met both, in the time that we were available; often after work and on weekends (really going above and beyond to accommodate our schedule).
