Making this happen was not a trivial task and we owe much gratitude to the professionalism and competence of our agent Pete Thistle. We initially connected with Pete when he responded to an online inquiry that we made about one of his listings. Pete was very responsive to our request and invited us to join him and view properties in the down town area with him. We were new to downtown living and had no knowledge of any of the properties in the area. Pete initially us showed a variety of very different properties in the little Italy area and gave us a great overview of what was available at various price points. We found him to be extremely knowledgeable about all of the properties; he informed us on litigation issues and was quick to educate us about future construction plans in the various neighborhoods that could impact views from the various properties. Bottom line is he is very knowledgeable about downtown San Diego and all future plans for the area. We did not buy a property for several months, but during this time Pete was very patient (un real-estate agent like), he was always willing to show us different properties in different areas and never pressured us to make a decision or an offer on anything. When we did find the Park Place property that we ended up purchasing Pete was on the ball with every aspect of the transaction. Looking, buying and closing on a house is said to be the most stressful thing to be done in one's life. I was not looking forward to the process, again, when I was looking a place in San Diego. I met with Pete and was impressed with his approach to the house hunting process. We initially just talked about my interests and what would make a good neighborhood to live in. He mentioned some neighborhoods and offered to setup a search site for me to browse listings suited to what I was looking for. This was a great benefit for me as I travel a good deal and to be able to pull up listings suited to what I was looking for was awesome. Pete's attention to deal and organization is superb, and answers his phone when you call him, only one time did it go to voicemail, and he called back within 5 minutes. During negotiations, Pete had my best interests in mind and helped me arrive at a great deal that surpassed my expectations. All throughout the escrow and "paperwork" process, Pete provided me with what to expect and, being on the road a lot, he was able to provide documents that needs to be signed in an electronic format that could be signed via a smart phone....I was able to complete documents from home and during my trip to Europe that allowed the closing to complete on time with no problems. Pete took the time to explain the whole process, what I should expect, who everyone was in the process (escrow, lender, HOA process) and followed up to make sure I contacted who I needed to and made sure I had all the documentation I needed.
