A little backstory first to put the rest of the review in context. I first made contact with Tom Nebel while I was living in Florida and my wife was deployed (we are dual military). And she remained deployed the entire time we were looking for a house. I stumbled upon Tom, for lack of better terminology, by emailing various realtors about listings me and my wife were looking at online. He promptly emailed me back, and was never "pushy" as some of the other realtors were that returned calls and emails. Something that was very important to me. He also explained his status with USAA and the Mover's Advantage program through them, which quite frankly ,definitely peaked my interest in using him. I arrived at Fort Campbell after looking at almost every listing online, across various sites, and really no idea what house I wanted or even really the major differences between styles. Tom had no problem at all having me in his office a couple hours that first day and narrowing down what me and my wife were looking for in a home. I told him what my budget for a mortgage was on a house and he never attempted to talk me into buying one outside of what I was comfortable paying for one. I narrowed the listings down to about 10-12 for us to drive to and look at. During the walk through, he would explain what was unique about the style of house we were looking at and then gave me plenty of time to not only look over the houses but to also take pictures to send back to my wife to look at overseas. He also would not just point out the highlights of the houses, but also the downsides of each house really giving me a pretty fair and balanced idea of each home. When me and my wife finally figured out the home we wanted, he actually had a list of items he felt that we should put into the contract for the sellers to fix. Some of these were defects that I had even overlooked, but he caught and had no problem bringing them to my attention. I was a first time home buyer and he had no problem walking me through the entire process step by step no matter the time of the day. The whole time he was working with me I was moving from FL to TN and in processing Fort Campbell at the same time. He had no problem with me giving him a call later in the day (7-8 pm at times) as that would be the only time I was available. Tom was fantastic!! He listened to everything we asked and helped us throughout the entire process. We had a house built and things got a little rocky with the builder - Tom immediately let us know that he was there for us and would support us no matter what. It was nice having someone on our side in such a difficult situation. My husband was stationed at Ft. Bragg NC at the beginning of the year and received PCS orders to Ft. Campbell. We decided to buy and began our home search online. Tom contacted me through my information given on his company?s website and was very enthusiastic in helping us buy our first house.
