We had worked with two agents prior to meeting Toan. We started our house search in October 2012. And as of April, we had not had any offer accepted. What were we doing wrong? On August 15, 2012 Toan made an appointment for my wife and I to go visit some houses and the surrounding area in San Diego the next day, August 16th. We live in Visalia (which is about 260 miles away from San Diego) so we both took a day off of work for this trip to meet up with Toan. We agreed to meet at 1:30 PM. At about 11:00 AM my wife and I arrived in San Diego so we gave Toan a call to let him know we were early but we were still going to keep our appointment at 1:30 PM. Toan sent us a text message confirming that he would see us at 1:30 PM. At 1:30 PM we gave Toan a call to see where he was and he said he would be late by an hour! So we waited for him and at 2:45 PM we called him again but he didn?t answer his phone. We were getting very frustrated at this point, not knowing what was going on with Toan and not being able to contact him. So, after wasting an entire day and getting nothing done, we decided to go home. While we were driving back home, his mom gave us a call to apologize to us about her son?s poor work ethic (I don?t even know his mom). Later that night, when we were already home, Toan sent me an email apologizing for what happened and he offered to make amends with me by sending me a $150 gas card if I provided him my address. So I emailed him my address, expecting him to keep his word but to this day I still have not received anything from him and I have not heard a single word from him. Its not that I need the $150 gas card badly, I just think that an honest person should keep their word. Toan was not able to keep our appointment like he had promised and he has not sent me the gas card that he promised. Because he holds a C-36 plumbing contractors? license, Toan was able to tell us a wealth of information regarding the construction and plumbing of all the homes we saw. He was keen at understanding us and our needs, even when we didn?t say explicitly what we were looking for, and he had a great instinct to pick up on the details in a home that were important to us. Because of Toan, we found our new home. We had been searching for a few months, and all the while Toan was incredibly patient. Each home he saw he considered whether it was right for us, and we developed a very trusting relationship with him during our home purchase process. With dueling laptops, my Hubby and I began our out of state relocation home search. He called 2 agents and I called Toan Nguyen. Toan was the highlighted agent on the listing I viewed. He responded quickly, within 15 minutes, letting me know that he received my call. He was in the middled of something but would call me back at a designated time. My Hubby?s agents returned his call soon after but not nearly as quick as Toan. Toan called at the designated time but I forgot our time difference and missed his call. My fault completely. When we did connect we spoke in depth (for approx. 45 minutes) regarding our needs, wants, price point, time line and interested neighborhoods. It was like an interview.
