There's no question about Samer earning his commission. Samer is an awesome guy to work with. I knew nothing about real estate other than it was a good time to buy right now. He took the time to explain everything to me and always responded to my emails within minutes, even late at night. We saw a few houses but whenever we found a place that was great, he'd make calls on the spot to get the process started. Sometimes a place would have a few offers on it already in which case he would just tell me to keep looking because the chances of me getting the place were slim to none without putting a much higher offer down. When I found a decent place, we put an offer down just to have it there in case nothing else worked out and kept looking which I found surprising since my boyfriend's last realtor had him put an offer down on a place and had him waiting for almost a year and told us that we weren't allowed to put offers on other houses anymore because if the contract was accepted he was stuck with it. I finally found a place that I loved through the listings link he set me up with previously and he knew just by the street name that the place was not going to be FHA approved but since I wanted it, he helped me get it. My loans kept getting denied due to the low occupancy rates and high HOA delinquency rates but he kept pushing it and turning to other lenders until finally we found someone who got the deal done. Yay! Samer is NOT a guy after your money, he's not someone who will try to make you see more expensive houses just so he can get a bigger payout (this is a horror story that I've heard a few of my friends tell me about for their realtors). He will give you his honest opinion on the place and help you get the lowest cost possible. When I didn't manage to get one of the houses I liked, he offered me first dibs on a unit he was the seller's agent for because I was his client. There was another unit that I liked but he instantly said to not buy it because he knew the neighborhood was sketchy. As I said before, as a first time home buyer, I knew nothing of the market or the process but Samer took care of everything for me. He marked off all the best deals in the contracts for me to sign and he did it so well that eventually I stopped reading everything in legal detail and just started reading it to understand what it was I was signing. I think there is no other person like Leslie Shafer in the real estate property business. From the beginning to the end of my house buying process Leslie was amazing. Leslie showed us multiple properties; she was tireless and passionate with always a positive attitude. If you're like me, you probably want a great house, at a great price, great location, but don't have days upon days to take off work and look at homes. That's where Samer comes in. This was my first home purchase so I didn't know too much about the process or what to look for going in. Samer pulled a great list of homes and showed me a variety and we quickly sorted out which ones fit the bill and which ones didn't. I learned a lot during the process - what to look for in a home, the difference two blocks can make, and what type of upgrades were worth the price and which ones weren't. He's very open and points out all the weak points of a house and what will cost you money down the line. I appreciated that big time. After we saw the first set of homes I was ready to rock and roll so when I found "the one" it was an easy decision and just came down to price. Sam is the Man! I can't believe how easy this process was - I'm a first time buyer, however it is the second time I've gone through negotiations... the first time was messy and not a good experience, but once I found Sam everything was just simple. I called him up from an ad on zillow, and he was the only agent that actually took a second to answer the phone and hear what I had to say - even if he said he'd give me a call back in a minute after showing a unit. We spoke and I told him about the property I was interested in; being as accomodating as he is, he suggested we meet at the property a couple hours after speaking. We took a look at the unit I was interested in as well as another property in that building that was available - he was able to pick up on every detail and explained what to look for. He had his iPad with him and was even able to pull up comps right then and there - talk about immediate gratification. He made some suggestion that I really considered - even though one place had a newer carpet and kitchen, the other unit was a better spot in the building and on the market long so we'd have more leverage for negotiation. We left and I went to a few other locations that day and met a couple other realtors - Sam was an obvious winner. I also considered the properties I saw, and the one Sam showed me was the number one in my opinion. I told him I was seriously considering making an offer and he agreed. Within 2 hours of seeing that property he put an offer in for me. This triggered the negotiation process - which he's told me he loves doing, and I can see why. They were also responsive to my questions as I had them and helped me put in an offer in short order.
