Marybeth helped my husband and I both sell our condo without ever listing it and purchase a new home. It was truly a wonderful experience. She is knowledgable and wants to get you in a home you will love. Most importantly she is fun to enter the venture with! My husband and I lived in a condo association. We had discussed the idea of selling our home but did not take any steps to list our property. We received an ambitious letter from Marybeth on our doorstep one evening (along with all of our neighbors) letting us know she had a buyer who was interested in living in our community. After calling Marybeth to inquire about the buyer and situation we quickly had an appointment for her to view our condo to determine if it was a good fit for her buyer. I thought it was best to provide some detail and make it clear that this is an honest review from a real client of Marybeth's... Marybeth helped us find and buy a very special home in Boulder. My wife and I were transferred to the area on assignment from NASA in Houston. We started our search just looking for a rental with thoughts of buying a home in a year if the assignment became long term. Even though hunting for rentals is probably the least interesting and beneficial activity for a realtor, Marybeth's enthusiasm and optimism never wavered. It was very clear how well Marybeth knows the unique Boulder and surrounding area market. She also approaches real estate with an investor's eye and sensitivity. With Marybeth's counseling and education we eventually felt like we were knowledgeable enough of the area and where/how we wanted to live that we decided to go ahead and buy property. Marybeth showed us property after property all over town over a period of many weeks. Of course, we wanted to "fall in love" with a house at as low a price as possible. So Marybeth patiently worked with us as we went through a process of bumping up our purchase budget to find a home that really inspired us. The Boulder home we eventually bought we first found on Zillow from Houston. Marybeth hadn't yet shown it to us because it was still above our stated price point. At our request, she checked it out and knowing our preferences knew we would love it. And we did. Actually buying the house had its challenges, too -- not just because we ended up at a high end price point. The sellers frustration with his listing agent prompted him to fire his realtor take his home off the market. Serendipity resulted in Marybeth's broker being contacted by the seller to explore the possibility of listing again the following year. He did not know he was Marybeth's broker that had made a previous offer. There was some drama and complications -- but the two were able to bring the seller to the table and get to an agreement everyone was satisfied with. Marybeth is not a typical realtor. She has degrees in business and interior design. She sees the design, style/art (or lack of) in homes and the financial considerations critical to real estate. She has a great, positive attitude and is enthusiastic about what she does and loves Boulder. Marybeth Emerson is the best realtor I've ever worked with.
