Someone told me about an agent who was the best. Unfortunately she was the best at not returning phone calls. I did my homework and found a very well reviewed agent on Zillow. I called Mickey's office and was immediately given his cell number. He answered and asked me about our house and we made an appointment. Mickey showed up exactly the time he said he would. We toured the house and he told me something I never heard before. Our house had sex appeal. I did not know a house could have sex appeal. He is not what I thought of a traditional agent. He uses Internet as a major source of advertising. Of course he said a sign in front of the property would draw a lot of attention, but looked to all sources to get the house sold. As a homeowner you think your house is the best and more valuable than it is. Mickey wanted to price the house so it was where the market was and we would not go through "price reduced" situations. In less than a week Mickey was back with his offer and after some discussion we relied on his experience and guidance. When the sign was put in front of the house we had multiple showings in the first week. In fact the sign was put out on Monday and we had two offers the following Sunday, We accepted one of them because the young couple were Mickey's clients had we had so much faith in him we knew he had found the right people. Mickey is a great guy, I feel bad he got stuck by owner not finishing his work, but Mickey paid for the mistakes out his own pocket, Just wish it was something that he could have done to make the owner fix it because it said move in cond but pipes wern't even hooked up and kitchen sink was total stopped up and had to replace pipe, basement leaks, basement floor had new paint but first time i hosed ot down the paint came right off, owner knew this but just didn't care, owner said it had electric heat and it was oil but mickey paid to fix all of it and paid for it.with no help from the owner Mickey in my book is a man of his word. He would help us to paint a picture in our head of how the furniture could go, or whether it really wouldn't work with the way the houses were set up. We were looking for a house with a basement that could be converted into a basement apartment. Mickey showed us several options in our price range and selected homes that matched our preferences not his. He was looking out for our interest and not his. He was always available to help us at various times of the day. He spent alot of time on the phone with us and also by email. He is particularly knowledgeable about home construction. His wife even helped us once the sale was over. They helped us configure the basement into a nice layout for an apartment.
