I rarely post online reviews, but in the interest of warning others, I am doing so now. I live and work in New York, but was looking to view investment properties in South Florida. Obviously, since this is a long-distance situation, my window to view properties is relatively small. So I had been talking with this broker for a few weeks in advance of my trip, trying to make sure we were going to be seeing the right kinds of properties in the limited amount of time I had. It took more than a few explanations of what I was looking for before it seemed like we were on the same page, but once we were all set with that I confirmed a week in advance that I would be coming down and would have one day to look at properties. I reconfirmed again two days before my flight. On the day of the flight, we talked and he said that he misunderstood the weekend I was coming down and that he had to show a property in the morning of the day we were supposed to view properties, but would be available to show me things after lunch. This was disappointing, but I figured I could still see a few things in the afternoon, so there was no need to call another broker and set something up. I text him on the morning we're supposed to view properties to confirm a meet up time and I get no response. I call after lunch and get sent straight to voicemail. Around 5pm I get a text saying he's still with clients and asks when am I leaving again, to which I reply the following morning. I get no further response. So it looks like I bought a $400 round trip ticket for nothing. If he knew he was going to be otherwise committed or even just didn't think the commission was worth his time, he could have easily passed me off to another broker in his office or given me a chance to make plans with someone else. My time and my money was wasted and texting "sorry man" doesn't really make up for that. I get that sometimes mix-ups happen, but the way it was handled was very unprofessional and if this is indicative of the level of attention he gives to his clients, I suspect I may have dodged a bullet.
