I had initially worked with another agency for 6 months and they were not successful in selling my home. They were not able to sell it due to poor marketing. I received proposals from Washington Fine Properties, TTR Sothebys, Best Address, etc. My home was a unique offering and required an agent who could think strategically and creatively. Interestingly, I interviewed one of the top agents in the metropolitan area, who is named as one of Wall Street Journal top agents in the country and I was quite disappointed. That agent indicated that the most she could list my home for was almost $300k less than the final sale price of my home. That agent tends to sell homes at below market value prices, so no wonder she is one of the top volume agent's in the country.
