During 2010, I started to view properties online in the St. George, UT area. In August of 2012, I made the decision to actually start looking for my future home. Zillow.com, the web site I had been using to search, also provided information on Real Estate Agents. One name that continually popped up was Shane Wood. Not only was his advertising/promotion effective, the reviews (like this one) were consistently positive, even glowing. So, I contacted Shane. We talked for about 30 minutes, during which time he identified the basic requirements I was looking for in a house and the type of community I would be comfortable in. Two weeks after talking with Shane, I flew to St. George from NE Wisconsin to meet him and start the search in earnest. Shane had set aside two entire days to work with me. Not only did he show me numerous homes that met or exceeded my stated criteria, but he drove me around the entire county, giving me a much better feel for the various communities found in area, recreational and shopping opportunities, restaurants, etc. We quickly narrowed the search down to the Kayenta Desert Community. I found Shane to have an excellent command of the marketplace, had the right resources at his fingertips (knew all the players), was very knowledgeable when it came to construction processes, and always had my best interests in mind. He was very accommodating and responsive to my many demands, never ?pushed? as most salespeople do, but rather provided me with the information I needed to make an informed decision. After narrowing the search down to the Kayenta Desert Community in western Ivins, I made two additional trips out West looking at properties there, and in October. found the perfect home. Last week, I closed on the transaction and I?m delighted with the entire purchase experience. During this process, Shane redefined the typical Real Estate Agents job description, at least as far as I?m concerned. Not only did he find me the perfect home and guide me through the entire process, but he was instrumental in getting approval for 3rd stall garage expansion from the HOA Architectural Control Committee. I have purchase several homes in my 48 years of life and I have been pretty happy with all of my realtors. However, they all take a distant back seat to Shane! I would be extremely confident in recommending Shane to everyone that I know (and anyone I don't know!). I live 4 hours north of St. George (South Jordan, Utah). I found the house that I eventually bought in St. George on the Internet. Initially, I picked the first real estate agency that I saw attached to the add and emailed them with interest. I gave them 24 hours to get back to me on a weekday. When I didn't hear back, I emailed one of the other 4 agents listed on the internet's site, Shane Wood. Within minutes, Shane responded to my email. Shane made time that weekend to get together with me, so I drove down to St. George. I had been looking at homes in that area for a month or so on-line, so I knew that I wanted the place I emailed him on. However, Shane showed me a few other places for comparative purposes and was willing to spend as much time looking with me as I wanted. Within a few days, we put an offer on the house and had a deal working. About a week later, I received an email and phone call from the original real estate agency that I had reached out to! I let them know that I had given them 24 hours to respond initially and then ached out to Shane Wood, who got right back to me and we had a deal on the house! Shane answers my phone calls, emails and texts every time and if he can't do so at the moment, he always responds within a few minutes. He's incredibly responsive. He knows the local market extremely well, the flood planes, the types of soil (shifting issues), the history of the neighborhoods etc. I understand that he grew up the son of a building contractor and it shows in his extremely comprehensive knowledge of everything in a St. George home from roof types and issues to water heaters, furnaces, electrical etc. Not only does he have great knowledge of the homes, he shares it comfortably. I had complete confidence that he was looking out for my best interest throughout the entire process. In the home negotiation, Shane protected me in every area. We had the seller replace 3 glazed over windows, an older water heater, repair a toilet, clean the roof drains etc. Because I couldn't easily be in St. George when the different services were being done, Shane was happy to be there on my behalf while the work was being completed over several days. As a matter of fact, several times, I had furniture deliveries at the house and Shane was there on my behalf to let them in-after the sale!! When the area had some flooding several times this past summerafter the sale, Shane, unsolicited, went by my new home to check on it and let me know that my place didn't have any issues! He went to the HOA management company on my behalf and got all my keys and information and walked me through all the aspects of my HOA and new home, so that I was very comfortable with my purchase. Shane has a lot of knowledge about the area. He knew about local pests. He also knew about cement settling. He also knew about conveniences like single level homes.

Shane is an outstanding Buyer's Agent. He has helped in every way that he could, and with no pressure on his part. He was always available, and very knowledgeable, when we needed any help. He knew exactly what to do when we found the right house. He even came out after the sale to help with some minor roofing repairs. We were starting to wonder if we would find the right home. He would always accommodate our needs and travel plans to look at homes. Shane learned what we were looking for, he emailed us listing to review and previewed homes to make sure we weren't wasting our time. He met with the builders who built the homes we were looking at to get more details on the construction and any possible issues. If I ever got his voice mail, which was rare, it was only minutes until he called us back.
