The home selling process can be a long one and there are lots of things to expect from your realtor. Having sold a home before in VA, it was like night and day between VA and selling in OK. We chose the Wally Kerr Real Estate Team because we had hoped to take advantage of their buyer pool who qualified for their ?Guaranteed Home Sale Program.? RJ came out to meet us and view our property. He gave a great marketing presentation and was very professional. We priced our house right, had it professionally staged and let the Kerr Team take it from there. I don't know how other realtors in Norman perform when it comes to selling a house, but here are the reasons why Wally Kerr did not earn 5 stars from us: 1. The day the house was put on the market, I checked quite a few of the marketing sites where they advertise (ie, Zillow, OpenhouseOK,Trulia, Realtor.com). One had the wrong square footage listed (which is how most people look for houses in OK) and another had the wrong address listed! 2. While there was an all-cash buyer interested in our house, we communicated our expectation to the Kerr Team of our lowest acceptable number. Rather than negotiate at a higher number and go down, they threw it out right away. The buyer still kept talking to us to go lower, but we had to walk away. 3. We were told that the Kerr Team would transfer our existing home warranty to the new owners. We provided the information needed to them 5 days before the scheduled closing date. It's now 4 months later and they called me today to let me know this hasn't been done and that I would need to take care of transferring the policy. 4. We called our Homeowner's Insurance company to inform them of the house sale on the date of the sale. We asked that they close out our policy and they said the real estate company usually handles this. A few weeks ago, when we went to cancel our auto policy (we moved to HI and they do not insure here), we learned the Homeowner's policy is also still active. So, the bottom line is that we paid a premium (the Kerr Team's commission is 4% for the selling team and 3% for the buying agent, so you are paying 7% instead of the standard 6%) and we could have handled the administrative aspects much better on our own. They justify the extra 1% because of the marketing funds they spend to advertise your home. If it had been advertised correctly, I would be leaving a much better review. Also, for the money spent in commissions, I would have expected a much better flier stand for the front yard. We ended up putting our fliers in the home because the holder was cheap plastic with zip ties anchoring it to the "for sale" sign. Friendly staff, but I guess my expectations were too high coming from the East Coast. Less

We listed our home with Kerr Team and other than the upfront cost of nearly $500 for them to list it, we have been pleasantly surprised. We get emails informing us on what has been done to promote our house, feedback from showings, and frequent updates on the market and our showings. We are also looking for a house to buy using Patrick Moore as our buyers agent and he has been very responsive and patient and helpful. While house shopping I worked with Patrick Moore, a fairly young, extremely knowledgeable and highly efficient realtor employed through Wally Kerr's real estate office. It was my first time to ever buy a house, and in the three weeks of house shopping, we visited 23 houses at my request. Despite such a short time frame and so many houses, Patrick was able to organize and arrange all of the visits with great flexibility and responsiveness even when I had last minute changes. Patrick was always very clean cut, punctual, and never once complained about a single thing. Never having been a home owner before, I had several questions throughout the whole process and he was able to answer every one of them and more by being able to give me further contacts that could answer my questions further. Once I found the house I wanted, Patrick was able to handle everything from the negotiations, inspections, appraisal, and paperwork leading all the way up to me getting the keys to the house. When I contacted the Kerr Team it was like a shot in the dark. I was all the way in Los Angeles and liked the professionalism of Wally"s ad and took a chance on his group. At the outset what was most impressive was his internet ad, the professionalism, and the feeling I was dealing with an expert. Not only was Wally an expert, he was a human being as well. I got the feeling he cared. On top of this and most importantly, and I told him this, he seems to suscribe to the Peter Prescription of "...how to make things go right." His integrity, honesty, and skills were above reproach. We were in the market for a newer home in Norman, OK and were working with a local realtor who showed us a home that we thought would work. They were sure we would have no trouble selling our house. Since our house was paid for we decided to buy the new home. After several months our first home did not sell and we did not like the current house that well so we put both houses on the market. We first came in contact with the Kerr Team while out of country and needing to be able to complete a purchase during the summer of 2011. At all times we were treated as valued customers - Wally Kerr and Sam Britt and the office staff gave us more and a higher quality of attention than we ever thought an agent would give. Wally stood out above everyone else. Wally actual looked at our house BEFORE giving us the listing price. Many agents looked at comps and told us the price and the condition our house was irrelevant. We lived in a neighborhood where many houses are completely outdated, by decades, and ours had been largely updated; so it seemed to us that there should be some price variation and all of the money that we had poured into renovations should be considered. Wally suggested a higher price than the agents with only comps. Our house sold in 10 days in May 2011, needless to say, he must have done a good job pricing the house. In looking at houses Wally was really good about pointing out the negatives in a potential home so that down the road re-selling it wouldn't be an issue. We found a house we loved and our offer was accepted. We had inspections, then the problems began. Cindy stepped in to help with inspections. Our house is a newer house and we were surprised to find several issues that needed to be dealt with prior to closing. We had to get a builder to fix an issue and the Kerrs helped work that out. As we were just a couple of weeks away from closing the house leaked. We had to have several people out try to fix that issue, and again, we had to negotiate how that would be fixed. Cindy did a great job staying on top of everything. She helped me remain calm through the entire process because I knew that she was doing a good job managing the situation and taking care of what needed to be done. Finally, we had two sets of movers. One set, 2 Fellas and a Big Vehicle were excellent. The set (from another moving company) on the moving day was another story entirely. The charged me almost double what they told me they would charge me and messed up furniture and our refrigerator. Once I told Cindy how horrible the movers were, Cindy stepped in to help get the mover pay for a new refrigerator door to replace the door they damaged the most, and when I told her about the other door, she offered to contact them again!
