I worked with Mark for about nine months prior to the purchase of my home in Springfield. From the beginning to the end of the process Mark was thoughtful, detailed and professional. Mark took the time to explain to me the benefits and difficulties of short sales and foreclosures, as well as taking hte time to understand what I was looking for in a property. During the process of looking at properties Mark would take the time to point out specific items about the property that a typical home buyer most likely would not take into consideration; small details that would have easily past me by and his experience and expertise allowed me to see items in a property that allowed me to make a good decision. I think one of the best traits about Mark's performance is his ability to make a client feel like they are his only client. I know that was the case with me. There were times throughout the process where my transaction required substantial time on Mark's part and I never once felt like my issue was not the foremost on his mind. The best example I can give of this commitment to his clients was one day before I was supposed to close. About 3:30pm on the day prior to closing, my mortgage company called because there was an issue that needed to be addressed before they would move forward with the closing. If the situation wasn't corrected that evening, the whole mortgage process would have to have been done over and our closing would have been delayed by weeks. I was in touch with Mark and around 5:30pm he was still working on trying to get the situation figured out. We had some damaged wood underneath a staircase and it not only needed to be replaced, but a structural engineer had to sign off on the repair before we could close the next day. At 5:30pm in the evening I figured we had no chance of closing the next day, because I doubted we could find an engineer after business hours. I spent hours from 3:30 pm until after 5pm looking for one myself. At around 6:30pm I gave up. At 8:30pm Mark called and had me meet him at the property. He had found a handyman to fix the issue, a structural engineer to sign off on it and had the seller at the house to pay the handyman for the repairs. I was pleasantly stunned that he was able to pull this all together after business hours and on such short notice. It goes to show that an experienced and well connected agent can do much more than advise on the sale or purchase of a property and that they can also facilitate the resolution of problems that arise. I can say with enthusiasm that Mark has exceeded my expectations, not only as a real estate agent, but also as a professional in general, and it is hard to exceed my expectations.
