My husband and I had wanted to move closer to our jobs for some time but were overwhelmed by what that entailed - the ?fixing up? our old home needed, the prospect of living in a staged home with a child and dog, and knowing we couldn?t sell it for what we owed. The signing of all documents and addendums (except closing documents) were done electronically (I was able to ?sign? from my phone!). They were incredibly responsive. Our questions were answered immediately. And they are all just really nice, easy to talk to people. We trusted their advice and never regretted it. I worked with Jacob in selling my condo as well as buying my home. He was extremely helpful in both processes and I felt that he always had my best interests in mind. Jacob Picket, as well as the entire team at Black & Pickett are absolutely amazing. My husband and I were looking for a home last year and Jacob and Alex cease to amaze me. We were referred to them from a friend who also had used them and highly praised them. We had no idea what exactly we were looking for, but Jacob and Alex took the time to teach us about Seattle (we are transplants), the types of homes in Seattle, what to look for in terms of retaining value, as well as all aspects of the mortgage process. We looked at tons of homes, not because they weren't good at their job, but because we had time and were waiting for a perfect home and a great deal. Jacob and Alex let us know if they thought there was something we would be interested in, but we also were doing our own research daily and they would take us to any home we wanted to see. They were available the same day to see homes with us, when they would go on the market that morning. They never pressured us in any way and stuck with us for the long haul (and trust me, we were EXTREMELY demanding and took up a lot of their time). Jacob and his team were phenomenal with helping me purchase my first home in 2009. They took time to explain the local market and the pros and cons of each property we viewed (including some issues with construction and maintenance that I hadn't even considered). The experience was a pleasure and very educational, and Black and Pickett has worked hard to continue the relationship long after the purchase was completed. Absolutely excellent all around.

I'm really happy we chose the Black and Pickett team when we sold our house. When we were looking for an agent it was difficult to find one who seemed truly committed to SELLING our house -- most offer the service, but once we interviewed them it was clear they had more interest or expertise in working with buyers. Black and Pickett is the exception. They drill down on every detail and pitch in to help on all sorts of tasks so it is not such a burden to the homeowner. Jakob gave great feedback about pricing strategies, so between that and the Black and Pickett sales prep specialists our house was prepped, staged and sold in short order. Jakob was also great about keeping us in the loop as the house received feedback from other agents who toured it. I can't speak to Jakob's negotiation skills, but Black and Pickett associate Ellen Hastings did a fine job on that. She also took the lead on counseling us about many of the day-to-day decisions and worries of selling a home. In addition, she made sure our house was held open for 4-5 weekends, even once we began to receive offers, to maximize exposure.Finally, Ellen is the one who walked us through all the paperwork and ensured everything went as we expected. Jacob was honest, thoughtful, responsive, patient, easy going, and helpful in our search for our first home. He was helpful in referring us to other professionals that we really liked as well. Whenever I hear someone say I am buying/selling a home, my first response is, "I know a great agent if you need one." We will be selling our condo and buying a house in the next few years and plan to ask Jacob to represent us once again.
