When the process of foreclosure began with our home, we were so depressed and we had little hope for the future. Then we received a card from Paula in the mail and we were not very optimistic but we decided to contact her. She met us at our home and explained the process. Best of all, there was no out of pocket expenses for us and being in the situation we were in, that was wonderful! She was courteous, knowledgable, professional and most of all, she was not judgemental at all. She made us feel at ease and we decided we had nothing to lose! Stay away! We were interested in a short sale house at the end of 2011 and used Paula as our agent. We put in an offer and waited to hear back. We decided when we put the offer in that if they accepted, we'd go forward and if they declined or countered, then we'd walk away. Well, Paula called us up and told us they countered and we told her that we didn't accept and that we just wanted out. We had already put $1000 up for earnest money and she sent emails that we should get our money back within a couple days. We also spent a sum of our down payment on the holidays and paid off bills thinking the deal was over. Then, at the beginning of January, Paula tells us that the bank had accepted our offer and we were obligated to the contract. We were shocked! Then, we found out that we were going to lose our earnest money and when we tried to contact her, she threatened to call the police!!!! Her broker Blake Lewis was no better. When we elevated the problem to him, he basically told us "good luck." We ended up paying $500 for Paula's lack of knowledge. I will never do business with this broker or Paula again. Our situation was one that required a lot of extra work since we were selling in Missouri and moving here without looking at the property and were not going to be here for the closing. We have been working with Paula from out of state, so there have been some added challenges to an already challenging real estate market.
