I had to take a break from packing to move into our new home (!) to share about my over-the-top wonderful experience working with her. Prior to meeting Susie, we felt overwhelmed, confused, and rushed by the realtors we had spoken with. In our first meeting, Susie spent almost 2 hours with us, giving us a fantastic education as first time home buyers (and she gave us a sweet binder we could refer to through the whole process). We learned so much. We asked a LOT of questions. She and her fantastic assistant, Patrick, offered us invaluable insight -- with top notch professionalism and also raw and hilarious authenticity. She knows when to sit back, listen, and give you time (it's an enormous decision!) . . . and when to give you a seriously helpful nudge to move on a decision. In this market, with things going so fast, this was invaluable to us. If it weren't for her savviness and tenacity, I doubt we would have gotten under contract with our house. Susie is totally on top of the details (and there are many), but she brings such a laid back, authentic, and FUN vibe to the process. She is creative, generous, and kind. I don't usually do reviews or give out 5 stars about anything. But, in my opinion, Susie was that good. My wife and I bought our first house in May of 2013 with the Susie's help. Being first time home buyers, we didn't really know much about what made a good realtor so we just went with the guy our loan officer suggested. The whole time we went out with him we felt like we were doing all the work and he was just driving us around. There was no real connection there and something just felt off. He knew what he was doing but it just didn't seem like he cared about us all that much. We were just a means to an end for his next paycheck. When we switched to Susie it was a night and day difference. She met with us to discuss our needs, she responded very quickly to any requests we had, and I always felt that she had our best interests in mind. We knew she had other clients but it still seemed as if we were her only clients. The whole process just seemed custom tailored to our needs. Our sellers were a little (ok, very) hard to manage but Susie managed to get us our home while keeping her cool. If you're looking for a realtor that makes you feel like a friend, cares about your needs, and is actively trying to help you, then Susie should always be your first choice! Susie did such a wonderful job helping me buy my house. I had lots of questions about the houses, the neighborhood, the process, and how to weigh it all. Susie takes the overwhelming out of buying. She's very knowledgable and asks questions that I never would have thought of. She also had great resources and made it a point to follow up with quickly with any questions or issues that came up. She's both very fun and very professional which was a great balance!

What could have been a nightmare turned out to be a positive, virtually stress-free experience thanks to Susie. Before we even went to market, Susie solicited opinions from colleagues about the property. She used that feedback to make specific recommendations to us on how best to improve the property for showing. Susie arranged for a local contractor to to make the improvements?VERY cost effectively. She also recommended working with a stager. We'd previously had an unhappy experience with stagers, so we were a bit reluctant, but Susie assured us it would help showings and she was right. Susie put together a beautiful website with professional photographs; she gave us spot-on advice about how to price the property; she turned potential 'problem areas' into highlights; and had our best interests in mind at every turn. Our property was under contract within weeks of listing and sold/closed less than six weeks from the date of listing. Susie is cheerful, approachable, and professional and I have no doubt that our sale was quick and successful because of her. Ultimately, we took all of her advice because we trusted her implicitly. Although we're thrilled to have sold our property, I confess, I'm a bit sad that I won't have the chance to work with Susie anymore. Zillow asks for the "year" of service provided, which is misleading in this case. I first listed my loft with Susie - who was recommended to me on glowing terms by a friend - shortly before the real estate market hit rock bottom in 2009. In spite of her over the top efforts, from the perfect staging to the website creation to the high end photography - we were unsuccessful in moving the property. It's difficult to sell a property when the inventory is better than a hundred similar properties with less than five selling per month - and mine had the handicap of poor lighting. To Susie's immense credit, her advice was without fail in my best interests, not hers. When it became apparent that the market was tough, she advised pushing off a sale - in spite of the fact that she received nothing for the time she'd already invested. She offered similar advice a year later, when the market had improved, but not enough to turn a poor market around. By 2012, when the Denver market had finally rebounded, she took our unit to market and sold it in less than three weeks. For a healthy premium over what we might have accepted had she pushed us to sell earlier. I cannot recommend Susie highly enough, not just because she'll put your interests ahead of hers, but because she's friendly, has intimate knowledge of the market, and is technically capable enough to differentiate your unit from the competition. She was a delight to work with, and if you're looking, you won't do better. Less

More than any other agent with whom I've worked (a wide range from awful to excellent), Susie made it a point to understand what we needed in a house, neighborhood, lifestyle. She had a detailed interview ahead of our beginning to work together. She was responsive, helpful and focused. When our mortgage officer started to flake, she had him replaced immediately. Speculate about the particular block, and she starts knocking on doors asking the neighbors what they think. All this happy energy focused on our needs. I worked once with SUSIE BEST and she was nice but very unprofessional! We discussed seeing some addirtional properties the following week and she never followed up as she stated that she would. If she is a reflection of Live Urban Denver, find another company! I was considering making an offer but her comps were not very good and she was basicly just seeking a quick sale!! She was very knowledgeable about the Highlands/LoHi neighborhood and spent quality time showing me properties but ultimately I found a place on Zillow through the "Make me move" application. Only someone like Susie would be willing to work through this unconventional way of buying a house. There was a couple of bumps along the way because of the fact that the owner was unsure of how to proceed but Susie smoothed them all out. I found Susie Best on Zillow when I was browsing the listings. Susie was great -- she knows the real estate business in the Denver area inside and out. Very responsive and trustworthy! I bought my house in Denver, CO in 2007 working with Susie Best, and she also helped me close as the seller of the same property just earlier this week (May 2011). I first met Susie eight or nine years ago when my mom and her partner bought their house with Susie. This was when they first moved to Denver, and their house was a good place to start, but they wanted somewhere with a little more space. So, a few years later they continued looking at other houses. But the house searching went on for so long that I started to think that it was just their Sunday afternoon activity. I thought they would never buy another house, and that Susie was extremely accommodating for continuing to show them houses. But this is the thing about Susie: she really wants to help her clients find their true home, and she will keep up with relationships with them for the long run. Eventually, my mom and her partner did buy another house with Susie, and they are still there and very happy. So, when the time came for me to buy my house, there was no question that I was calling Susie. I then learned firsthand how knowledgeable she is about the real estate market, the process of buying and selling through every stage (inspection, appraisal, loan conditions, etc.), and also those extra things that make a difference to selling your home -- like staging your house so that others can imagine themselves in a space that is (not yet) their own. But Susie is not just knowledgeable and personable, she is also creative. Both when I bought and sold my house, there were complicated situations that required some quick thinking and negotiation to keep moving along in the process. These situations could have easily halted the purchase or sale of my house, but neither happened. And the sale that just closed of course happened in the midst of a less than robust market thanks to the economy. None of this deterred Susie. I should also add that I have referred friends to Susie and they have all been equally happy. Susie has a very fortuitous surname! She really is the best! She spent untold hours driving us around Denver and showing us the different neighborhoods. She was always punctual and thorough, providing us with a map of where we were going, a description of the neighborhood and a print out of each home we were viewing. We will definitely be working with her in the future!
