After vacationing in the South Padre Island Area for many years we decided to purchase a home at the Golf Course. All of our friends told us to definitely use Susan Brown a local real esate agent. We contacted her and she immediately addressed our desires for purchasing our new home. She took several days and made the deal and closing a joy. We contacted her about finding a home for lease. She replied with a home for lease that met our needs. We went out to see the property and immediately agreed to rent the property. After she said our application was approved, she told us that the owner of the property was out of state and did not have internet access or fax and that she'd have to mail the lease to the owner. She then contacted us back and said the owner had received the lease and wanted to know if we'd be interested in a two year lease, which we agreed to. She then said she would have to modify the lease and send it back to the owner. We continued calling her as she drug the process on for weeks which turned into months and continued to make excuses and often didn't return phone calls. In the meantime, we were so fond of the home we passed up on several other properties which would have met of needs. We finally got so frustrated that we checked the tax records to find the owner and were able to contact him directly. However, upon speaking to him we learned that 1. He didn't even know who were where. 2. That he DID have internet and fax access 3. Susan Brown was stringing him along as he was very anxious to either rent or sale the property. He was behind on taxes on the property and wanted the money. Turns out the owner was just as disappointed in her services as we were. Turns out the owner regretfully sold the property way under market value to an investment group out of desperation and under her advice. Had we have known that we could purchase the house at the value it was sold for, even though we weren't in the market to buy a home, we would have purchased the home. Her little tradmark is "Hire the realtor that hustles" PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MEANS HUSTLES YOU. Less

I do not manage rental properties. I refer potential renters to two companies that specialize in this area. From time to time someone will call me wanting to rent a property I have for sale. I contact the seller. Most times the seller wants to sell. If a seller is interested in renting I have the seller contact the potential renter. I specialize in working with sellers and buyers.
