He was patient and answered all of our naive questions. The actual listing of the house was fast and painless, he went around and measured all the rooms and took some great pictures. The listing was up the same day. It turned out that our house had a structural issue with the foundation, this is normally the kiss of death for a house sale...This is where Steve really shined. He calmed us and the buyer down and worked some negotiating magic to preserve the deal (this was important to my buying a house story, below). Closing was fast and efficient. He came prepared and was there precisely when he needed to be. Buying a house; Steve took the time to talk with us to discover what we were looking for in our next house and neighborhood. As we would go look at houses he was very attentive to our comments/likes/dislikes. Each house hunting trip he planned got better and better as he learned what we were looking for, I was very impressed, as our time is valuable. We finally did find a house we fell in love with and Steve was able to negotiate us a fairly large break off the listing price. The seller was a relocation company and he went toe to toe with them to get us a great deal. We had gone to contract on this house quickly after our current house went to contract...then the structural issue arose from an inspection of the house we were selling. This could have blown both deals but Steve managed to hold it together masterfully. He calmed everyone down and pulled in experts and engineers to assess the situation. We are very grateful that it all worked out. Bottom line is we were very impressed with him and would highly recommend him to anyone that is in need of a competent agent. We considered FSBO, but ultimately decided we wanted the expertise of a realtor and, with Steve's financial model, the cost remained quite reasonable (much less than a traditional realtor). But Steve was more than a "bargain". He gave us constructive feedback about how to stage our home. He provided us with numerous listings to review and NEVER showed us a house above our price range.
