I used Zillow to send out an email expressing interest in seeing a property, which went to several Zillow agents. Jim contacted me just a few minutes later by phone to offer his help. No matter how far or how run down, Jim was always ready to schedule a showing and drive to meet us. He always gave us comparables information on our places of interest, and unbiased answers to our questions - not to mention some helpful, unsolicited tidbits from being in the house business for a while. We never felt pressured, and felt like there was genuine concern to help us, always staying very professional. We loved that there was NONE of the snottiness we've too often come across in this business! So local knowledge was not perfect - that's because I picked them at random, and most of the houses I wanted were way out of their usual areas of work. But they were honest about not knowing the area, which was fine by me since I do lots of research on my own. When we found the place we knew was for us, he patiently helped our way through the negotiation and paperwork. As first time homebuyers buying a foreclosure, we just placed our trust his advice. Susi McCauley was on top of difficult paperwork before I could even ask her to check into it, was always willing to spend time on any aspect of the deal that I felt I needed to, and seemed to genuinely care about what mattered to me. I am an attorney who handles real property matters, and can be quite demanding, and yet I really cannot think of a single thing Ms. McCauley could have done better. Indeed, this was a particularly challenging deal, and I am convinced it would have never come to fruition without her intelligence and constant efforts.
