I've sold three homes before and Jerry Hsieh by far was the best realtor that I've ever worked with. I had offers on the home after the first showing on one house and before the first showing on another home. I chose Jerry and Rachel among several similarly qualified and reputable realtors because they knew my neighborhood best (Picfair Village) and in my experience, the best salespeople sell what they know. My house was on the market a total of 6 days, after which I received multiple offers, all of them at or above the asking. Jerry and Rachel were knowledgeable, professional, responsive and above all, ethical. There were absolutely no strong-arm tactics, grand standing, over-selling or trying to obliterate the negotiating position of the buyer (who had her own realtor who had no problem stretching the truth in the presentation of facts and risking the entire deal by using cheap tricks and ploys, all of which are a total turn off to me). After contacting and speaking with both Rachel and Jerry in reference to a listing they had, we asked that they would represent us on the purchase so our offer could be considered or refer us to another agent within their brokerage. They stated to us they would represent us ,however, they were unresponsive and never returned emails, text or phone calls during the time frame allotted per the listing. We had no chance to submit an offer in time and we later noticed that the property was already under contract.(which we are certain they represented another buyer on the purchase off). Whether we received an acceptance or not, it is a fiduciary duty of a licensed real estate agent to work in good faith and to adhere to their obligation as licensed agent to represent each potential purchaser equally. This was simply not the case and its unfortunate that being so new to the business that they would not want to build their business off of referrals and positive experiences with their prospective clients. They should at least have the decency convey to us that they would not represent us so we could seek outside assistance, not tie us up with empty promises they had no intentional of fulfilling. After attempting to contact their brokerage it was apparent to us from another associate within the office that this is a practice and pattern of how this married couple conducts business. Everyone has their own view on ethics, but this was clearly an unethical act on their part. It is disturbing to continuously see their information illustrated on Zillow when they are NOT the agents any client would desire if you want equal opportunity or ethics displayed on a real estate transaction.
