I've personally known Jim for more than half my life and have had the pleasure of working with him on many transactions. He has always been a true professional and is also one of the most personable agents I know. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing real estate assistance in the Triangle Metro Area.

The Jim Allen group attempted to sell our home in Raleigh, NC. Although Jim Allen was our agent, more often than not he was too important to speak to us directly. The rep that did deal with us directly we were told was working only part time, at one point wasn't even working for them... had an irrigation business? We were promised a quick sale without having to lower our price. We had to lower it twice and were within just a few thousand dollars of having a sale and the Jim Allen group let our counter offer expire, and let our agent agreement expire without being able to negotiate a deal. Then the office staff threatened us saying that we could not sell our home using another agent and that we had to exclude any previous buyers, but failed to even send us the list of agents per the agreement. A bad experience for us, but we were referred by friends who had a good experience so I guess it depends on how many zeros are on the end of the dollar amount of your sale/purchase. Less

Response from Jim Allen

It is unfortunate that this client feels that they had a bad experience. Selling a home can be an emotional journey and for some, it also means a financial loss. These two trigger points sometimes leaves a bad impression to a client no matter how much assistance and professionalism is given on the part of a real estate agent. In this market, there is not guarantee that a home will sell - no matter low much the price is lowered. A contract is a contract and as I'm not certain of the actual facts of this situation, I would suspect that there was a predetermined time frame of agreement to the sale of the home and the contract dates - it is not uncommon to maintain vigilance on a contract and hold firm.
