Cathy McAlister was extremely helpful in all aspects of the purchase of our new home. We relocated from Washington state and so had to rely on her to take care of things for us as we could not be here for many steps of the process. She took us all around the area and spent as much time as we needed to both look at the area and homes. She was very quick to respond to any requests we had and super helpful with explaining everything we needed to know. Cathy was extremely helpful and instrumental in selling my property. She is not only a nice person and pleasant to deal with (which is a plus in my book) but also very knowledgeable about the Real Estate market and all it proceedings. She explains everything clearly and makes sure that you understand what is going on through the entire process. She is very attentive to detail and gets back to you in a reasonable amount of time, you are never left hanging (another plus!). She also knows what is out of her realm and will say that is for an accountant or that is for a Real Estate lawyer, i.e. she is good at pointing you in the right direction, if she knows you need that. The sale of this property (not my primary residence) was a short sale and not an easy one. Cathy was the second agent I had trying to sell it after the first agent was not successful. The property was a condo that backed up to an eight lane busy highway so it was not the ideal place to sell and the neighborhood was so-so. The condo itself was in very good condition and was well taken care of. I think one of the biggest issues we had was convincing Bank of America (who the short sale was through) of what the value of the property was. I had had an offer using a different agent (before using Cathy) that Bank of America did not accept although it was a very good offer and I lost that buyer. The offer that Cathy was able to get was much less than the first offer because 7 months had passed and condo prices had fallen. Cathy was able to convince Bank of America that the offer she had was legitimate (in light of the most recent comps in the area for other places backed up against the highway like mine) by staying on course and not wavering. It was really pretty cool to watch this transpire...it was kind of a WOW Cool! moment as I never thought we could get Bank of America to see the light on this but Cathy persevered and it happened. The rest of the process went smoothly and we finally closed, a happy day indeed! I'm still happy about it. One other thing that transpired was the fact that Bank of America included a letter saying that they would not take any legal action in the future for the deficiency, i.e. the difference of what I owed versus what the short sale was. That my friends was HUGE if I do say so myself. Overall, I would highly recommend Cathy if you are needing an agent for your real estate needs. Less

This is the first time I have worked with Cathy and she was truly amazing. No challenge was too much for her. Although I live out of the area, she was able to facilitate a smooth transaction where all parties were more than satisfied.
