We were relocating from Chicago to the Charlotte area. Before I even came down to find the house, my realtor from up North found us a contact here....Becky. The main reason that we chose her above the others was her quick response to calls and her professionalism. I arrived on Saturday, and already had messages waiting. I gave her our list of must haves and we agreed to start serious hunting on Monday. Before then, Becky emailed me a copious amount of full house descriptions, all within our price range and our wants. She also recommended a mortgage broker, who contacted us on Sunday night. We were pre-approved on the phone that night! We began looking at houses on that Monday, and as we looked, she tweaked her lists.She reads her clients very quickly and adjusts her housing offers accordingly. She knew within our seeing maybe three houses and my comments EXACTLY what kind of house and spatial arrangement of rooms we desired. She knew we were on a tight time frame (I actually had to return to Chicago at the end of the week and wanted to have a house by then). This seemingly momentous task did not phase her in the least! By the afternoon of Tuesday, we had chosen our house and put the bid in Wednesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon, it had been accepted. The mortgage broker that she had recommended to us also had been working with us, and we already had started the paperwork for the mortgage. It was one-stop shopping because of Becky. The service didn't stop there by any means. She was johnny on the spot right through closing. Every call was answered promptly and if there was anything with the mortgage, she was there to help as well. Being that this was a cross-country move, having someone like Becky was a godsend. We actually ended up building a house and she was there for everything from signing the contract to every walk-through to closing. We didn't forget anything because of her. Becky began assisting me when I lived out of state, even though I had made clear I wouldn't purchase immediately until I had become familiar with the new area. She lived over an hour away from where I was searching but always made time for me, even at the last minute. She even went so far as to make the drive to 'reshow' the house to me again, so that my other son, who was in town visiting, could see the house. In retrospect, it was that showing that confirmed my decision to purchase the house, as he reiterated all the attributes the house offered, that he had heard me mention over the years. I'm just not sure if I'd have purchased that particular house had my son not viewed it and gave his opinions...and she offered that showing, I didn't request it. She was fairly new to the area herself at the time and had very little experience this far north, but she researched and got up to speed as much as one could. I was very impressed with that! She goes above and beyond what a typical Realtor would. Believe me! Although I didn't know her before and we haven't kept in touch since, I always know I have a friend in Becky.
